Paul and Rachel will begin their ministry at
Country Covenant September 18th, 2011
Greetings
As a way of
introduction my name is Paul Couleur and I am very pleased to be called as your
new pastor. There have been many prayers prayed, conversations had, and answers
sought in this thorough call process to bring us here today. My hope is that I
will be able to share a bit of my story as a means of introducing myself.
My parents John and Jeanne Couleur raised our family in Deerfield, IL. Growing
up, Winnetka Covenant Church was my spiritual home. My family members are still
active members at WCC to this day. My faith was shaped by spiritual formation at
church, retreats, Covenant camping experiences, and other church actives. Many
steps of public witness took place at Winnetka Covenant Church including
baptism, confirmation, and wedded there as well.
My journey continued to the University of Missouri-Columbia where I acquired a
Bachelors of Science degree while initially drawn there by a baseball
scholarship. After college I worked in the corporate world for a short period
prior to entering ministry full time. Leaving corporate life, I served at
Covenant Harbor Bible Camp which led to accepting a call to serve as a
missionary in Gothenburg, Sweden at Fiskeback Mission Church. After eighteen
months in Sweden I returned state side to study at North Park Theological
Seminary. In May of this year I graduated from North Park Theological Seminary
with the degree Masters of Divinity.
While studying at North Park I met my wife Rachel a nursing student at the time.
Rachel was raised in Minneapolis, Minnesota, by Jim and Carol Sundholm. Rachel
and her family were active members of Community Covenant Church. She graduated
from North Park University in 2008 where she received her degree in nursing.
Currently attends North Park Covenant Church and works as a nurse at Swedish
Covenant Hospital.

Rachel and I were married November 14th, 2009 and have fallen deeper in love
each day. Some exciting news is that we are expecting a baby for this coming
November. We look forward to the new challenges and joys of being new parents.
It is a pleasure to be with you as your new pastor at Country Covenant Church.
Grace and Peace,
Paul Couleur
