Earthly Spiritually

We are studying "Earthly Spirituality", focusing on the life of David. There is more information on in the Bible than any other person except Jesus. While David certain had many faults, he is the one described as "a man after God's own heart." We can learn a lot by looking at David's life and his connection with God.

Manly Man's Bible Study

This study met at the church on alternate Saturday mornings.  Bob Matson led the men in a study of God's design of men.  John Eldredge's book "Wild at Heart: Discovering the Secret of a Man's Soul" was the text for this study.

God designed men to be dangerous, says John Eldredge. Simply look at the dreams and desires written in the heart of every boy: To be a hero, to be a warrior, to live a life of adventure and risk. Sadly, most men abandon those dreams and desires--aided by a Christianity that feels like nothing more than pressure to be a nice guy. It is no wonder that many men avoid church, and those who go are often passive and bored to death. In this provocative book, Eldredge gives women a look inside the true heart of a man and gives men permission to be what God designed them to be--dangerous, passionate, alive, and free.

Women's Bible Study

This 6 week study was led by Linda Matson and used the book "Fields of the Fatherless" written by C. Thomas Davis.  With compassion and insight, Davis shows you how to reach out to a special group of people who are most in need -- and who the Bible reveals are most on God's heart. Starting now, you can know the kind of purpose and joy that comes when you work side by side with God in His favorite fields.

Renewal Community (Adult Bible Study)

Led by Pastor Dave, this study was on the life of Abraham using the book of Genesis and Henry T. Blackaby's study "Created To Be God's Friend (Workbook) - How God Shapes Those He Loves"

Abraham was a friend of God, according to Scripture. And as believers, we are also meant to be friends of God and walk with the kind of faith that Abraham had. Using the life of Abraham as his palette, Henry T. Blackaby shows how God shapes and sculpts men and women so that eventually they can become His friend. This workbook helps readers apply the truths of Created to Be God's Friend, understanding how God uses difficult events, traumatic circumstances, and trying life experiences to lead us into spiritual maturity.
